DAY 1:
1 Hongkong Disneyland (whole day 10am - 8pm)
Start your HK vacation with a bang in Hongkong Disneyland, where dreams come true. The park is divided into four (4) themed sections: MainStreet, AdventureLand, FantasyLand, and TomorrowLand.
Upon entering the park, one reaches Main Street first. Here, one sees Mickey and Minnie and other Disney characters meet and greet guests and pose for photos. If lines are long, DO NOT waste your time here. Go to the other themed sections, in the gardens, castle or along the streets, where Disney characters (including another pair of Mickey and Minnie!), stroll or stay in kiosks to meet and greet guests.
Each themed section has must-rides, for the kids, adults and the extreme adventurers.
Adventureland: Jungle River Cruise
Tomorrowland: Space Mountain (extreme), Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters
There are different shows to watch out for:
Mainstreet: (1) Disney in the Stars Fireworks, (2) Parade of Stars
Adventureland: The Festival of the Lion King
Fantasyland: (1) The Golden Mickeys and (2) Mickey's Philhar-magic (magically entertaining show especially for children)
Tomorrowland: The Stitch Encounter, where one gets interactive with Stitch (of Lilo and Stitch fame)!
Attractions for the whole family:
As a woman or GIRL while in Disneyland, and as one who got to listen and read fairytales while growing up, I really enjoyed strolling in Fantasyland, in the castle or outside, posing with Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Alice and Aurora. They are just sooooo beautiful and one also feels beautiful with them.
For my son and husband, they enjoyed the rides and attractions in Tomorrowland.
As a family, we enjoyed ALL the shows, especially Mickey's Philhar-magic, and the Jungle River Cruise.
And to cap off and as a fitting highlight of the Disneyland adventure, don't ever fail to watch the Disney in the Stars Fireworks, at 8pm, that lights up the castle and its surroundings - simply surreal!
DAY 2:
2 Ngong Ping 360 (9am-2pm)
Giant Buddha/Po Lin Monastery/The Wisdom Path, /Ngong Ping Piazza.
This attraction is also in Lantau Island but I have no personal experience here. Click the site for tourist info.
3 Factory outlets in TungChung and Markets in Kowloon (2pm-6pm)
After Ngong Ping, one can still check out the factory outlets in Tung Chung, still in Lantau Island. Or travel through MTR to Kowloon for the markets - Ladies Market, Temple Night Street Market and Jade Market.
Kowloon
4 Avenue of Stars and 5 A Symphony of Lights (6pm-8pm)
Stroll through the Avenue of Stars at TsimShaTsui and see the stars of different celebrities. The Avenue of Stars is a vantage point to see the Symphony of Lights at 8pm.
HK Island
DAY 3:
6 The Peak/Madame Tussauds (8am-10am)
Go up Victoria Peak to see more of Hongkong at 1300 feet above sea level. Going up to the peak is an enjoyable experience in itself. Madame Tussauds' collection of wax celebrity figures is in The Peak, for a separate entrance fee.
7 Ocean Park (10am - 6pm)
Ocean Park is built on two mountains and to get from one to the other, there is the convenient cable car service. There are two entrances: the Main Entrance and the Tai Shue Wan Entrance. If you are planning to meet with some other friends, make sure you agree on which entrance to go to, otherwise you'll end up waiting for each other at the "entrance"!
One gets to see different shows in Amazing Birds Theater, Ocean Theater, Sky Fair and Whiskers Theatre. There are many rides for the extreme adventurers in this park. If you are one to go for extreme experience, this is the park to go to!
Depending on the flight schedule one books, these activities will surely fill in three days of fun and adventure as you Discover Hongkong!
